On Saturday July 25th and Sunday July 26th the Saint Archangel Gabriel Parish in Richmond Hill celebrated its Slava. This is one of the newest parishes in the Canadian Diocese. Presently Holy Liturgies are celebrated in the Chapel dedicated to Saint Archangel Gabriel.  The parishioners have taken a huge undertaking from a financial and document related perspective in hopes of a new church in York Region. All necessary documentation related to the re-zoning of the Church lands has been completed and are in the hands of the town officials. Father Ljubo during her sermon expressed the wish of all the parishioners that a Holy Liturgy is celebrated on the foundation of the new church come next Slava. The evening prior to the Slava a vespers took place and was attended by honorable guests: Father Prvoslav Puric, Ljubo Rajic, Mihajlo Dimitric, Vasilije Gavrilovic and Milos Puric. For all the attendees Family Vidakovic prepared a delicious diner. On Slava Day the locally renown fisherman and hunters led by Mirko Tojcic and Milan Njegovanovic gathered on the Church grounds and commenced the preparations of their delicacies featuring a stew made out of dear, bear, bison meat to name just some wild animals. They also brought along their mobile pizzeria for the parish children. This years Kum is a very successful local businessman Sasa Isailovic and next years Slava Kums will be Vojo and Mila Mavrak. A huge thank you to all the sisters for their time and dedication, they worked tirelessly and for this specific event were under the love and leadership of Vera Pavlovic and Nena Vuckovic.
