Slava of Saint Simeon the Myrrh-Bearer Church Celebrated in Sherbrooke

The Saint Simeon the Myrrh-Bearer Church in Sherbrooke, a city located about 150 kilometres from Montreal, very solemnly and piously celebrated its church Slava on Sunday March 8, 2026. The Holy Liturgy was celebrated by Fr. Djordje Cimesa, with the concelebration of the retired Fr. Zivorad Subotic.

After the consecration of the Slava gifts, a festive Slava luncheon followed. The godparents of this year's Slava were Miladin Sukic and Colette Deaudelin.

This year, the celebration was further enhanced by the prayerful presence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Canada Stefan Tomasevic. During his visit to the Serbian community in Sherbrooke, Ambassador Tomasevic met with Fr. Djordje Cimesa, the president of the Church and School Congregation Nedjo Kuljic, and representatives of the Serbian community. Ambassador Tomasevic expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and emphasized that the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia will continue to support activities that foster Serbian identity, culture, language, and faith in Canada.

To our God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, be glory and praise unto the ages of ages. Amen.
