Metropolitan Mitrofan and Ambassador Tomasevic Visited the Vidovdan Exhibition "Golden Serbs – My World, My Colors" in Montreal

In the afternoon of the Vidovdan holiday, on June 28, 2026, His Eminence Archbishop of Toronto and Metropolitan of Canada Mitrofan and His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Canada Stefan Tomasevic visited the Holy Trinity Church in Montreal, where, as part of the Vidovdan gathering, they toured the one-day exhibition of paintings "Golden Serbs – My World, My Colors", organized on the occasion of the Vidovdan holiday.

Accompanying His Eminence Metropolitan Mitrofan were the Secretary of the Diocesan Administrative Board Sister Paraskeva, the Secretary of the Diocesan Office Deacon Petar Marjanovic, and the Vice-President of the Diocesan Administrative Board Zeljko Colakovic.

The dignitaries were welcomed by the parish priest, Protopresbyter Vladimir Vranic, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Milenko Petrovic, with the members of the Board of Directors, on behalf of the Church and School Congregation, who wished them a warm welcome. Upon arrival, Metropolitan Mitrofan and Ambassador Tomasevic first visited the church and venerated the relics held in it, and then visited the exhibition in the church hall.

Before entering the exhibition, in the spirit of Serbian Christian hospitality, the distinguished guests were welcomed with bread and salt by Nevena Mijuskovic and Lea Cuk.

The exhibition was organized through the efforts and commitment of the Holy Trinity Church and School Congregation Cultural Committee chaired by Vesna Jankovic, with the selfless contribution of all members of the committee, as a festive Vidovdan cultural event within the life of the Serbian community in Montreal.

The distinguished guests were guided through the exhibition by the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Serbia in Montreal, Marina Gavanski-Zisis, academic painter Goran Panic, and fine artist Desa Krstanovic-Lozo, the authors of the exhibited works, presenting their achievements and their deep foundation in the spiritual, historical, and cultural traditions of the Serbian people.

Metropolitan Mitrofan and Ambassador Tomasevic examined the exhibited works with great attention, lingering before individual compositions that testify in a particularly artistic way to Serbian history, spirituality and cultural memory, as well as to the lasting connection of the Serbian people to their roots.

The visit took place in the spirit of the Vidovdan holiday, prayerful gathering and unity, and the exhibition "Golden Serbs – My World, My Colors" presented a dignified artistic contribution to the holiday and a testimony to the living cultural and spiritual heritage of the Serbian people in the diaspora.
