Pilgrimage to the Holy Transfiguration Monastery in Milton

Article by Fr. Marko Dimic

The Saint Petka Church in Lakeshore organized a pilgrimage to the only Serbian monastery in Canada – the Holy Transfiguration Monastery in Milton, on the occasion of the celebration of Diocesan Day on June 7, 2026.

The faithful gathered in the early morning hours of Sunday, from where they set off together by bus on this spiritual journey. Upon arrival at the monastery, the pilgrims took part in the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy, which gathered a large number of believers from all over the diocese. In a prayerful atmosphere, the faithful had the opportunity to partake of the Holy Mysteries and together offer prayers to the Lord for health, peace and blessings.

After the Holy Liturgy, a fitting program and fraternal gathering followed, where the faithful met with friends and acquaintances from other parishes. A special joy was the gathering of a large number of children and young people, who enriched this celebration with their presence.

This pilgrimage was an opportunity for the faithful to be spiritually strengthened, to deepen their unity, and to experience the beauty of the unity of our Holy Church. We thank everyone who participated and helped organize this journey, with the hope that there will be even more such spiritual gatherings in the future.
